その後、主はほかに七十二人を任命し、御自分が行くつもりのすべての町や村に二人ずつ先に遣わされた。

これらの事の後、主はほかに七十人を立てて、ご自分が行こうとしているあらゆる町や場所へ、先に二人ずつ遣わされた。
→幾つかの写本は、七十二人、となっている(17節も同じ)。救い主は、彼の務めを担う七十人の弟子たちを立てられた。それは、神がモーセに命じられたように、モーセが自分の負担を担う七十人の長老を立てたのと同じです(出エ24：1、9、民11：16)。
