ああ、お前は天から落ちた／明けの明星、曙の子よ。お前は地に投げ落とされた／もろもろの国を倒した者よ。
[NIV]How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
[NKJV]How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!

欽定(きんてい)訳(やく)聖書（KJV：King James Version）が英語で「ルシファー」を採用した。結果、英語圏ではルシファー（Lucifer）が悪魔の代名詞となった。
