ヘブライ人への手紙9：1～5について

〔新共同訳〕さて、最初の契約にも、礼拝の規定と地上の聖所とがありました。すなわち、第一の幕屋が設けられ、その中には燭台、机、そして供え物のパンが置かれていました。この幕屋が聖所と呼ばれるものです。また、第二の垂れ幕の後ろには、至聖所と呼ばれる幕屋がありました。そこには金の香壇と、すっかり金で覆われた契約の箱とがあって、この中には、マンナの入っている金の壺、芽を出したアロンの杖、契約の石板があり、また、箱の上では、栄光の姿のケルビムが償いの座を覆っていました。こういうことについては、今はいちいち語ることはできません。

〔リビング・バイブル〕ところで、神と人間との間に交わされた最初の契約にも、礼拝についての規定があり、そのために建てられた神聖な幕屋がありました。この幕屋には二つの部屋があり、第一の部屋は聖所と呼ばれ、金の燭台と、特別なきよいパンとそれを載せる机が置いてありました。聖所の奥に、幕で仕切られた第二の部屋があって、至聖所と呼ばれていました。至聖所には、金の香壇と、全面を純金でおおわれた契約の箱がありました。その箱には、「十戒」を記した二枚の石の板、マナを入れた金のつぼ、芽を出したアロンの杖が納めてあったのです。箱の上にはケルビム〔神の栄光の守護者たち〕と呼ばれる天使の像があって、黄金のふたをおおうように、大きな翼を広げていました。このふたは「恵みの座」と呼ばれます。しかし、これ以上くわしく述べる必要はないでしょう。

〔回復訳〕さて、第一の契約にも、礼拝の規定と、この世に属する聖なる幕屋がありました。すなわち、第一の幕屋が備えられ、その中には、燭台と机とパンとが置かれ、それは聖所と呼ばれています。また第二の幕の後ろにある幕屋は、至聖所と呼ばれています。そこには金の香壇と、全面、金で覆われた契約の箱があって、その中には、マナが入っている金のつぼと、芽を出したアロンの杖と、契約の板とがありました。その箱の上では、栄光のケルビムがなだめの場所を覆っていました．それについては、今詳しく語る時間がありません。

〔NIV〕Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary. A tabernacle was set up. In its first room were the lampstand and the table with its consecrated bread; this was called the Holy Place.Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, which had the golden altar of incense（香） and the gold-covered ark of the covenant（契約）. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant. 5Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.

〔NKJV〕Then indeed, even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service and the earthly sanctuary. For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the lampstand, the table, and the showbread, which is called the sanctuary;and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All, which had the golden censer（香炉） and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant; 5and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.

NKJV（New King James Version）以外は「金の香壇」と「金で覆われた契約の箱」と記されています（聖書協会共同訳：香をたく金の祭壇、口語訳：金の香壇）。しかし、上図からも分かるように、「（金の）香壇」は聖所（第一の部屋）にあり、至聖所にはありません。
従って、「金の香炉」と「契約の箱」と記されているNKJVが正しい訳と思われます。
